Good morning, esteemed guests. How does it feel knowing you didn't catch the appropriate culprit? Hm...all you can do now is move on.

As you awaken on Monday, you’ll find that things are just as they were the night before. The kitchen will serve piping hot breakfast during the morning hours, the pool’s been stocked with fresh towels and the gardens are open for anyone who wishes to spend some time among nature. However, should you explore a bit, you’ll find that a few new changes have been made to the hotel itself.

Your room service menus are still on your desks if you wish to browse before leaving for the day.

The front door no longer spins endlessly, for one thing. Should you make an attempt to exit the hotel, you will find yourself entering a new location. Some of you may even find this place familiar.

In addition, should you enter the elevator you will find a new button appears, proudly reading 03. Pushing this button will take you to a new floor where you will also find a few new areas to peruse. Explore to your heart’s content, get to know more of the hotel, and take your time in learning more about each other.

...then again, you might find you don't even get a choice. You don't want to learn about each other? That's just too bad. It seems that now that you've been here for some time, the hotel would like you to delve deeper and expose the parts of you that may remain hidden on a normal occasion. Throughout the week, wherever you are, you may find yourself encapsulated in a shower of stardust as your most private memories are revealed. That's quite unfortunate, isn't it?

Even more unfortunate for some of you, you may find yourself in the possession of memories you weren't aware you had. Memories that perhaps you lost, or memories from a different time...it can be quite confusing to have the memories of a different you, can't it?

Finally, for those of you with a spare ticket in your pocket, feel free to visit the Starlight Gift Shop, stocked with new items for this week.

[did you enjoy getting locked in last night? at least you were probably used to it. well, you should have been, since it happened last week. anyway, at least it's over now, as the rooms unlock once more and you're free to go, especially since absolutely nothing happened during the night.

anyway, as you exit or make a move to, you'll find something strange happening. your feet move on their own, guiding you to a specific location.

once you stop, you and one other person are standing at the entrance to the Courtyard.

[ohh boy. he pauses at the entrance, for a moment.]

... take care.

[is there anything immediately off, especially at the entrance? he is definitely making sure he's not like, immediately stepping on something.]

[ wow happy friday, emet. as they step towards the courtyard, he glances over to him. dryly. ]

Just make sure you keep your eyes as open as ever...

[ he'll move towards the entrance and as emet is checking it out at the start, deciding to have a look out towards the statues. anything funky going on with them? ]

[Emet-Selch can try and look around the entrance area, but he'll find that the shade cast by the trees seem oddly dark, blocking out any means of looking into the area, or that petals will abruptly blow in his face to obscure his vision. (Is there even any wind in the courtyard? Who knows. Don't think too hard about it.)

As Kaeya goes to check out the statues, he'll see a vague trail among them, as though there was movement.]

[tree interference...

he gives kaeya a nod, and since he's got the statues, emet-selch heads first to the wisteria trees to check them out.]

[ in agreement, he moves towards the statues to follow that trail of movement. may as well, after all. he glances downwards to make sure he isn't stepping on anything or on any part of the trail that might possibly appear?

what's up among the statues of our former enpeeshees... ]

[Emet-Selch can head to the wisteria trees, but he'll see nothing odd about them.

The trail Kaeya follows takes him to the general vicinity of one statue. If he looks closely, he might see a bit of... red on it?]

[ktiseos]

[okay cool. how about the closest seating area here? he'll check that out next, though he's listening in case kaeya ends up needing extra eyes by the statues. anything off about this area?]

[callalilies]

There's something on this statue. Always a terrible sign.

[ he calls, just so emet is aware that if there's nothing by the seating, he's free to come over. anyways, he'll have a closer look. does it... look like blood? and is there more of it nearby if he looks around to try and pinpoint the source. ]

[Emet-Selch can try to check the seating area, but again shadows and flower petals will block his vision.

It looks like blood! As for whether there's more of it, who knows, really—Kaeya might be distracted by what looks to be a body by the statue, now that he's come closer.]

Is there-? I've seen naught amiss elsewhere.

[but now that he knows kaeya found something, he heads that way, brow furrowed as he draws closer to the statue to join him and their mystery body.]

[callalilies]

Blood... and a body...

[ once emet has met up with him he proceeds forward towards the body. he's going to come close enough to see the body now. is it near any other statues in particular or is it kind of just all on its own? ]

[guestservices]

[It's behind this particular statue probably neither Emet-Selch nor Kaeya recognize, as they never attended Wiwaldi. As Emet approaches, he might also see scratches on it, alongside the blood.

But as he and Kaeya go to check out the body—

The first thing that stands out is the knife protruding from it. The next thing that stands out is, well, the body's identity. It's not too hard to recognize, really. This isn't Chroma which had a million people with white hair, and one of those in this game is already standing here with Kaeya, not dead.

Which is more than can be said for this body on the ground! In other words:

Hope Estheim is dead.

Before they can do anything else, though, shadows erupt from the ground, swallowing him up and leaving nothing behind.

They'll have another moment or two to react to this tragic turn of events, before the shadows spread and engulf them as well, causing them to black out. When they awaken, the shadows have receded, and all appears normal in the courtyard again.]

[ oh... frowns softly... kaeya glances at emet and then back to hope just as the shadows swallow him up and he lets out a pretty unhappy murmur: ]

Archons... well, at least this will be a starting point tomorrow...
