As Sunday morning arrives…you may find yourself actually sleeping in? For the first time in several weeks, you do not find yourself awakening at 9am. You don’t have that slight nagging feeling that you’re going to be late. You don’t feel pressed to rush out the door and go somewhere.

The restaurant is currently serving a piping hot breakfast, and your luggage is packed nice and neatly. Somewhere outside, it’s almost like you can hear the pleasant chirping of birds.

And then…the hotel begins to rumble. It’s the same ominous, quaking movement, building swaying from side to side before the front door of the lobby suddenly bursts open. Your stay at the hotel is over, dear guests. But perhaps you ought to venture outside and see what’s new.

Along the grounds of the hotel are several portals that have been opened, dark swirling shadows that remain for you to venture through once you’re ready to depart. However, these portals work in two directions. While you have the understanding that stepping through one of these portals will send you wherever you’d like, you may notice there are people starting to exit through them.

Your hostages are safe. They are delivered one by one, unharmed and returned to you for you to bring them back where they belong. The original staff also appears to finally be released...do be careful with them.

But that’s not all. Every now and then the portal will flicker and someone new and unexpected will exit. Your friends from home may step through these portals. You may recognize some of these as people that you’ve met in your previous murder adventures, too. All of them seem to be in possession of a flyer that reads:

Congratulations! You’ve won an all-expenses paid visit to the Starlight Hotel. Check-in begins at 3. Please sign on the dotted line upon arrival.

You may want to warn them, actually.

You don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy its fine amenities one last time. All of the floors have been opened once again, and every room is accessible except for your previous bedrooms. You will also find that you’ve been unnerfed, powers you once possessed returning to you and back where they belong.

Everything is peaceful…until you hear the sound of the Nightman.

H̸o̷w̴ ̴c̸o̷u̸l̵d̸ ̵y̸o̴u̸ ̸n̵o̶t̶ ̸f̶i̷n̵d̷ ̴a̴ ̴l̷o̶o̵p̴h̴o̶l̴e̵?̷ ̸N̷o̴w̵ ̵t̴h̷e̴y̷'̴r̵e̶ ̸a̶l̷l̸ ̷f̶r̵e̸e̵!̵

Hm…too bad. It seems as though the proprietor of this hotel is unhappy with circumstances. But regardless of where you look, you wouldn’t be able to find him. Seems like he’s gone off to try and restructure his business model.

As a parting gift from the Starlight Hotel, you will find that your typewriters are now pocket-sized palm pilot models. You do want to stay in touch, don’t you? It’s been several long weeks for all of you…

…you can check out anytime you want, but you can finally leave.

Happy Golden End, friends! You may use this post to thread out your final day at the hotel. You can thread with your hostages if you'd like. In addition this post is open to past gamemates or canonmates. You are free to bring characters from previous games or their canonmates to play off of each other.

As the post states, everyone's powers are back and you have universal texting. Fun! Characters will be able to return to their own worlds or depart for another world of their choosing whenever they'd like to leave.

I'm going to have to send him back sooner or later. [he does not seem to mind though.] I'm not sure he'd want to go where Will and I are going next anyway.

unfortunately, she knows better than to try to talk him out of it. so, instead - ]

What preparations have you made for the trip?

[resumed]

Not many. Not yet. We had some stuff to finish first, but now that things are quieter Will and I can plan.

[toughchoices]

Loop me in once you've got something a little more concrete. I can't go with you, but I can at least make sure you've got equipment that'll help.

[resumed]

I will. If there's time, I'll let you know as soon as I know. [he bows his head a little.] I've been putting this off for too long. And then I got stuck here for two months and lost even more time.

[toughchoices]

...I know you wouldn't be going if it wasn't for a really good reason. [...] But just to be clear: I don't like this, Nico.

[resumed]

You're not the only one. Will's not exactly thrilled either. [he can admit that.] But it's for a good reason. I promise.

[toughchoices]

I trust you. I just don't trust - that place.

[resumed]

After everything with Apollo...when he regained control of the oracle of Delphi again, Rachel started prophesying again. She had one for the two of us. I know it's the right choice now.

[toughchoices]

...it's a quest, right? Who's your third?

[or was breaking with tradition part of the prophecy, she wonders.]

[he frowns a little at that.]

I don't know yet. We haven't had much time to really prepare before I ended up here.

[toughchoices]

[frowns a little, too.]

...I see.

[resumed]

[there's a pause.]

Are you angry that we're going?

[toughchoices]

[she shakes her head]

I'm angry that the circumstances make it necessary for you to go. But I'm not angry with you for choosing to - from the sound of it, it's the right thing to do. I'm worried that you're going.

[resumed]

I think several people would argue that it isn't necessary, but I don't agree. But I've...made some friends that will help us tunnel straight through to Tartarus. Easiest way in and out. They'll help us.

[toughchoices]

[reyna, who knows that for demigods nothing is ever as simple as it sounds in the planning stages, presses her lips together into a thin line and nods.]

If there's anything I can do to help you prepare for it...

[resumed]

...all I can ask is that you make sure no one else follows us. I don't want anyone else getting involved unnecessarily.

[toughchoices]

[reyna has this look on her face like "damn, now i can't be all 'oh no, lady artemis, the monster i was tracking ran into tartarus' and run after him"]

That's really what you want?

[resumed]

Not exactly. But like I said, I don't want anyone else getting involved unnecessarily. ["i dont want anyone else getting hurt."] If it happens that people cross our path, I can't stop that.

[toughchoices]

[she hugs him. why are little brothers like this.]

[resumed]

[possibly surprisingly (or maybe not?), he does actually hug her back. loosely. but it's there.]

We have a few days once we get back. That should be enough time to figure out something.

[toughchoices]

[reyna glances briefly in the direction of the hotel's entrance, then sighs. with nico, it's always out of the frying pan and into the fire, isn't it? ...but he is better equipped to handle it than most demigods.]

I'll do what I can to help make sure you're prepared.

[this is said in a very you're not going to be able to talk me out of this so don't even try kind of tone.]

And the Hunters? [he won't turn down the help, now, that they've gone in a huge circle where he wasn't sure he could but ultimately wants it. simultaneously though he's aware reyna has her own responsibilities.]
